Let's Knit 117

Issue 117 of Let's Knit is in the shops now and is full of spring-time knits. I've designed a gorgeous lacy sweater and there's an interview with me too.

Prepare yourself for the inevitable compliments you'll hear when you step out wearing this stunning sweater. We love the beautiful lace pattern that covers the front and the back of this gorgeous design. If you're nervous about lace knitting, use lifelines (tutorial here). This will save unravelling too much if things go awry.

This sweater is worked in the round from the bottom up to the underarms. The front and back is then worked separately to the shoulders which are joined by working a three needle cast off. Stitches are picked up for the sleeves around the armhole. The sleeve cap is shaped by working short rows and the sleeves are knitted in the round from the top down.

The sweater may sound like it has some complicated techniques but just take it one step at a time and you'll be fine.

On the last page, there's a short interview with me and there's pictures of a few of my designs, both ones that have been published in Let's Knit and self-published designs. The white shawl in the top right hand corner is the Forever shawl I designed for Amy's wedding (photo copyright: Mark Zaccaria).
