Birthday Discount & A New Pattern

It's my birthday today and its a long weekend in the UK this weekend too. So I'd like to celebrate by offering you all 40% off my any purchase from my Ravelry Pattern Shop. Valid until Monday 28 August midnight UK. Use coupon code: happyanni

My birthday celebrations have been disrupted a bit by the fact that I'm on crutches! To make a long story short, I've had problems with my knee for three weeks (pain behind my knee) and yesterday I finally had a doctor's appointment as it just wasn't clearing up. Then two hours before my appointment I had a sudden snap behind my knee and I couldn't put any weight on my right leg at all. With Emily &  Simon's help and some old crutches (from when I broke my foot in Norway 16-17 years ago), I managed to get to the doctor. She's not sure what's wrong but it's nothing serious as in join related. I've been referred for physio. It's better today and I can just about manage to get around the house on one crutch. But I can't drive so my plans to go out with the girls today are ruined.

Oh well, let's move on to something more cheerful like a new pattern release! Bellever is worked on the bias, giving an interesting diagonal slant to the long colour repeat. A lightweight, delicate shawl, Bellever is perfect to wear covering your shoulders or wrapped around your neck as a scarf.

Get 25% off Bellever until 31 August. Use coupon code: bellever.

Bellever takes just one Lace Ball or Lace Ball 100. I used Lace Ball 100 in 2305. There's also a scattering of beads so you'll need 680 beads. See all the pattern details here

Although I started knitting Bellever last Christmas, it is actually a relatively quick knit. I just put it on hold for a few months then ripped out nearly all of it and started again.

If you're new to lace knitting there are lots of tutorials on my Tutorials page including how to read lace charts, how to add beads, how to fix mistakes in lace knitting and lots more.

Fancy a kit? There is currently one kit in the shop in the colourway I used that's ready to ship but if you miss out on that one, you can pre-order a kit which will ship between 15-20 September. There is a selection of kits in various colours that are ready to ship straight away too. See all the kits here.

You can of course make up your own kit. Choose a skein of Lace Ball/Lace Ball 100 and add two bags of size 8 seed beads.
