Making Me Happy!

Being in Jersey is making me happy this week. I'm not here on holiday but to teach at the Jersey Textile Showcase. But I've had some time off and we are staying an extra day after I finish teaching. Simon has come along as well and he has the whole week off.

One of the things I love about Jersey is the cycle lanes. Yesterday morning I taught a big, fast paced class and I was pretty tired when I got back to our suite (yes we are in a suite at the guesthouse). I slept for an hour and then we headed out on bikes. The guest house has bikes for free hire for guests.

 We headed from St Aubin to La Corbiere on the cycle track. There was a long hill, which wasn't too steep but long, from St Aubin. But when we reached La Corbiere lighthouse it was worth it for the view.

We had beautiful sunshine and bright blue skies. The tide was out so we could walk out to the lighthouse on the causeway.

We had a great view of St Ouen Bay too. We may try to cycle along the bay another day.

If you visit Jersey I would definitely recommend exploring the island by bike. On Friday we cycled along St Aubins Bay into St Hellier on the cycle and foot path which runs alongside the beach. It was 3 miles each way and even though it was cloudy, it was an enjoyable ride.

Today and tomorrow I'm teaching all day which will be tough but all the people I've met so far have been so lovely and friendly.
