Fancy learning something new?

Every year at the end of August our local education authority sends out a leaflet of the evening classes on offer. And every year I browse the leaflet looking for something I fancy learning. I don't do a class every year but I still like to browse through the leaflet.

This year I'm thinking of taking Spanish. I've done Spanish before but I've forgotten most of it and now I can just about say please, thank you, hello and ask where the toilet is. I can count to 10 too. But as we've just come back from Spain I'm motivated to have another go.

What do you fancy learning this autumn? I think learning new skills is a good habit to get in to. It keeps your mind young and active.

I teach a lot of workshops in various yarn shops around the UK and you can find more details of my workshops here.

Now I'm also teaching online classes to make it easier for those of you who'd like to take my classes but don't live nearby.

In September I'll be running Continental Knitting with Norwegian Purl and Professional Finishing Techniques.

The perfect thing about online classes is that you can work when it suits you and it doesn't matter where in the world you live.

So if you want to learn a quicker, more efficient way to knit, check out my Continental Knitting With Norwegian Purl class or if you'd like an easier way to sew up your garments, shape the shoulders using short rows, work one row button holes, learn how to press/block your garment and lots more, then sign up for Professional Finishing.

Want to see what continental knitting is? I recorded a video and you can find it here.

Both classes were given a mention in the new issue of The Knitter. I was going to show you a picture of it but for some reason I can't upload photos at the moment. Anyone else with a Blogger blog having the same problem? This is the second day I've had this problem.

The feedback from previous online class participants has been very positive. You can  read some of their comments here.

If you've got any questions you can ask them in the comments or e-mail me.

Which new skill do you want to learn this autumn?

Spanish would be totally beyond me! I have so much respect for folk who can speak more than one language.

For myself I'm hoping to learn a few more cast on and cast off techniques, a ton of stuff to do with further maximising blog traffic, and how to make a podcast :D
