Get Knitted Open Day

After waking up very early yesterday, probably too excited, we left for Bristol at 7.30 am hoping to beat the holiday traffic which we did but the weather was awful. Finally got to Bristol and found Get Knitted (GK) quite easily. It was smaller than I tbought it would be but the selection of yarn was fantastic. Spent 1.5hours browsing and chatting to friends from the Angel Yarn forum and Knitting Haven Forum. Lots of knitters of all ages there. Even a little 3 year old girl (your daughter is lovely Alicat) who is receiving early training in the art of yarn shopping.

I was armed with a shopping list and a budget. Had been browsing their website all week and thought I knew what Iwanted but once I saw al the beatiful yarn I just went all weak and wanted to buy everything (and very nearly did). Had lots of difficult decisions to make but eventually made my selection. And here is what I got:

Here it is broken down into sections:

Lornas Laces (the blue/green/lilac one is Lamb & Lion which I've decided to knit a jumper with and will thereforeneed to order more as I only got one skein)

Got some Cherry Tree Hill Merino Lace and started winding it into a ball last night but gave up as I was just too tired. Knitting soemthing from 'Lavish Lace' with it. NOt decided what yet.

This is the Debbie Bliss Donegal Tweed to knit something for my nephew. Not decided what yet but it's his birthday in a month's time so better make a decision.

Got some cotton from Debbie Bliss and some Cotton Fleece. The blue cotton will defintely be a bag - a new very exciting design, but not decided about the other ones yet.

Loved this Lucy Neatby Celestial Merino Dream and I'm planning to knit a stole from Lavish Lace.

Anni, what brilliant news about your patterns! You did really well there in the stash acquisition dept - but, hey, we needed to splurge to get one of those really handy red carrier bags! And am voting MrAnniknits as most patient DH for waiting while we all lusted inside 'the shed'. Hope your aches have improved and was lovely to meet the 'bag lady' in person! Am going to post a pic of my haul tomorrow!

Thank you Angie. Can't wait to see a pic of your stash. It was lovely to meet you too. So nice to put faces to the names. Am feeling a bit better today. Take care, Anni
