Tivoli

Look at that pretty, beaded border, the pretty, lacy waves, the beads dropping off the picot cast off. I just love this shawl. I cast on last summer and the stripey section was fun to knit but then I got to the lacy border and the beads and it just transformed the whole shawl. The unused yarn is carried up the side so you won't have to keep breaking the yarn for each stripe.
The shape is great too. Tivoli is worked in one piece from the top down. The shape is created by working 10 increases on every righ side row and it's a great shape. You can really wrap yourself up in this beautiful shawl. I've been wearing it several times while working at my desk this week.
I knitted Tivoli in 2 skeins of YarnAddict Silky Camel 4ply but you can use any sock yarn that has 400m/440yds per 100gr skein. In addition you need miracle beads. I used two colours and two different sizes. The larger 6mm beads are used for the edging and the smaller 4mm beads for the lace border.
This shawl is easy and the lacy border is both charted and written out. The lace is very easy to knit and I've got a video demo for those who've never knitted with beads before.
Look at how pretty that beaded picot cast off is!
Tivoli is a shawl you can really wrap yourself up in. Perfect for the cold weather we're having right now but it would also look beautiful in the summer with a pretty summer dress.
You can purchase the Tivoli pdf at Ravelry (in £), Craftsy (in US$) and Patternfish (in US$).
The beautiful pictures are taken by Kat Goldin and I just love her photography. So a big thank you to Kat and her model who did a fab job. The pattern has been comprehensively tech edited. A bit thank you to Rachel Atkinson for doing that.

The miracle beads are from Frampton Beads.
