Have you ever knitted with Fyberspates Scrumptious yarn? If not then you should get your hands on some right now. If you have then you'll be excited to hear about their new collection. I've already used this yarn for designs several times, one design is my Shelter Scarf (which you can download for free in exchange for a donation to Shelterbox). I've got designs coming out in magazines this spring and summer using Scrumptious too.
I was so excited last year when I got 2 designs accepted for the Scrumptious Collection Volume 2 book. This is only the second book I've contributed too. The other one is a book of Classic Elite designs and is due out soon.I've got one design in this book plus another design to be published later this spring. My 'Dollis' shawl uses Scrumptious 4ply and is worked in 2 colours. It's a bottom up crescent shaped shawl.
The edging has some beads and an elongated stitch pattern which then moves into a lace pattern before the garter stitch short rows. The top of the shawl is finished off with an edging which is knitted sideways.
I love this shawl and i love the colours used. I cast on and did the edging including the beading row then I sent it off to Craftie Pixie who knitted the rest of the shawl for me. She did a great job as always.
I won't reveal my other design quite yet. I've seen the pdf version of this book and all the designs are gorgeous. But i thought I'd share a few of my favourites. There's a gorgeous blanket, the Sherwell throw:
Some very nice cushions, Waddon & Wandle:
The cover cardigan, the Kennet Cardigan by Belinda Boden, is a circular yoke cardigna which I really like.
The Lea Cardigan by Lily Kate Frances, who is also the model, is interesting. Here's the front:
I love the back on this cardigan.
But look, you can turn it around and wear it the traditional way too. So you get two looks from this cardigan.
The Osney shrug by Kyoko Nakayoshi is gorgeous too and is knitted in my favourite Scrumptious colour.
And finally, the Darent Cardigan by Susan Crawford. I love the lace pattern used in this cardigan.
Which is your favourite design? Tell me in the comments.
