Robyn

'Robyn & Lily' was first published in Let's Knit a year ago and it made the front cover. I'm now making the pattern available for you all. Let's Knit called the cowl Robyn and the handwarmers Lily. As I have another design called Lily, I've decided to use Robyn for the complete set.
Lovely Sarah, who did a lot of modelling for me last year, modelled this design back in August, on one of the warmest days we had last summer. But i made her put on her wintercoat.
The lacy cowl is worked from the top down and finished off with an edging which is knitted on sideways. This pattern does have several charts (but I've included written instructions too) but don't be intimidated as the charts are all very similar and it's a very simple pattern to get into.
The cowl comes in one size and the hand warmers comes in 2 sizes and will fit a variety of sizes. You can knit the complete set out of just one skein (400m/440yds) sock yarn. I used Bambino Sock for the sample and i've just listed several Bambino Sock skeins in the shop yesterday.
The handwarmers start with a provisional cast on, you can use any provisional cast on, and the edging is knitted on at the end. The lace pattern for the cowl and handwarmers is almost identical, there is just a difference resulting from different number of stitches in the pattern repeat.
You can get the set here and until end of January you can get 50% off by using code: robyn50.

I'm sad to announce the Lace Variety Club & Sock Variety Club will be finishing soon. If you're a current member your membership will run until it's due to end, so don't worry. But I won't be accepting any new memberships. I am however launching a new club. At the moment I'm busy working out the details. The club won't start until April as I have to wait until the other clubs have finished (the last shipment for the Lace Variety Club will actually be May).

One of the details i'm working on is whether to run it as a set 3 or 4 month club where you can only join at set times, ie. April, July etc. Or whether to accept memberships every months as I did with the old clubs. The disadvantage of that for me is that  I can't plan too far ahead as numbers vary each month. I'm also trying to decide whether to take payment for the complete 3 or 4 months up front or offer monthly subscription. If you have any views on this please tell me.

The big announcement and unveiling of the new club will be next week and I'm very excited about it.
