Hat Parade

I promised pictures of the recent hats I've knitted so why not start with that.

I've knitted two versions of Cecile which was on the front cover of the current issue of Yarn Forward magazine. My sister ordered one and I hand dyed the yarn for her and then I knitted one in Debbie Bliss Cashmerino for Vanessa. This yarn was the one I ordered for my sister but didnt think it was pale enough .Having said that hand dyeing pale pink is really difficult.

And for a friend's birthday, which was last week and I didnt get it sent off in time so I'm giving it to her when I see her tomorrow, I knitted Ysolda's Urchin from Knitty Fall 2007. This is a garter stitch, sideways hat shaped using short rows. It's an interesting and quick knit. I just hope my friend likes it and that it fits.
I've ordered some fun promotional material. I got the idea from a friend after seeing the pen she'd ordered for her Beauty Therapy business. The stuff is great. I got some pens, some sticky note pads, fridge magnets and some post cards. Club members may find some of these treats in their parcels over the next few months. The girls loved it all too. This company i ordered from keep sending special offers and freebies, so yesterday I ordered some more stuff with different designs and I let the girls choose a sticky note pad and pen with their own names etc on.

Tooth update, yes it turned out I do have an abscess. I saw the dentist on Tuesday afternoon and got two lots of antibiotics. Apparently root canals can cause abscesses. I feel though that with my history of abscesses (this is the 5th one in the same place in 2 years) my dentist ought to have given me antibiotics as a precautions. Anyway, I've had a painful few days and nights. But last night I slept through the night and woke up with no tooth pain and the swelling is starting togo down too so it looks like i'm over the worst. It wasn't as bad this time as it has been before though when my whole face swelled up. Unfortunatley though I think the antibiotics are affecting another part of me, ie my tummy. Enough said about that.

Love the hats and hope your friend likes Urchin - both of my versions were well received.

Hope all of you feels better soon!

Try some yoghurt with acidophilus and bifidus cultures in it, it should help to even out the tummy if it is being affected by the anti-b's

Lovely hats! And just in time for the cold weather that's coming our way again.

Toothache has to be one of the worst sorts of pain. Glad you're over the worst.
