Life goes on

We had another busy weekend. A lovely Chinese takeaway wiht a friend and her 2 daughters on Saturday evening. Had a lovely evening. Then on Sunday after church we stayed on for a shared meal which we all enjoyed then went up on the moors to a lake called Sibleyback Lake and the girls went sailing with Simon and his Dad in his Dad's new dinghy. He got it last autumn and it was stored in our garage over the winter. Lately he's been doing it up and this was the first time on the water.

When we got to the lake I was tired so had a sleep in the car the na bit of knitting. My mother in law had taken their dog for a walk so Emily and I took our dog for a little walk along the lake. Once Vanessahad enoug hsailing I made her change back into jeans and t-shirt for a bit of a photoshoot. I had a very special pattern which I can't share which I wanted some pics of with a more interesting back ground. The photos were good. Soem with hte lake in the back ground (and a windsufer gotin the picture a couple of times as did the odd boat) and a few pics in front of a field wiht sheep.

I also got some photos of this:

This is the Scrolls Cowl (or neck warmer) not sure what to call it yet. It's knitted in one skein of Luscious Lace and the pattern will be ready next week. Brilliant if you fancy trying out a skein of this luxurious cashmere/silk yarn. It's quick to knit too.
You may not need it this summer but knit it now ready for when it gets chilly again. Or knit it now and put it away for a Christmas present. Knit several in different colours so everyone can have a bit of luxury at christmas. And odn't shoot me for talking about Christmas already. It'll be here before you know it and you'll thank me if you knit up some of these now.

Yesterday I had a fab day at Spin A Yarn, it's definitely worth the long drive. I picked Pixie up from Newton abbot station and she came along to hte knitting group. It was great to meet her again. Along with Pam and Barb she's such a great help iwth Sockamania. There were quite a few of us at the knitting group yesterday. We all had a great chat. I did next to no knititng but that's quite normal. I always seem to go to knitting gorups and not get any knitting done.

I did buy some gorgeous yarn, Alchemy Silk Purse, which is a dk silk yarn in a gorgeous rich purple colour which I'm currently knititng into another cowl, called Milano Cowl. I should have got some pics but I haven't so I'll share some pics of htat next time. Joyce, the owner of Spin A Yarn, showed me 3 bags of samples from Alchemy. Wow, what stunning yarns. Wonderful rich colours and dreamy yarns. They're not cheap though so I thoguht a one skein pattern would be perfect for this yarn.

I'm going back to Spin A Yarn tomorrow to teach a Lace workshop. due to a last minute cancellation, yesterday there were 2 spaces left so if you fance ocming along contact the shop for details.

i've also got some pics of Diamonds Are Forever in Cashmere Lace to share. Pattern will be ready by next week or maybe even earlier.
This version has beads but they don't show up very well on pics.
And I'm about to post the Celebrations Stole on Etsy.

Lovely shawl and cowl, Anni. I may just have to pop over to Etsy and look for the pattern.
Sounds like you had a lovely weekend. Hope you got some rest.
