Sailing from Venice was amazing! We sailed past Venice landmarks such as St Mark's Square, beautiful houses, boats and canals. It was truly an amazing way to see Venice.
The next day we arrived in Split on the Croatian coast. We got off the ship and explored the old town and sea front but it was HOT and we were tired. So we got back on board the ship for lunch and an afternoonby the pool which was slightly quieter as we were still in port.
We spent the next day at sea sailing towards the Greek island of Santorini. When we arrived in Santorini we got off the ship quickly and got a cable car up to the top of the very steep, long hill.
We walked along the top if the cliff taking hundreds of photos, admiring the view and some luxurious holiday rentals and boutique hotels.
In the afternoon we sailed on to Mykonos where we arrived mid evening. Getting off the ship was a nightmare. 2000 people (give or take a few hundred) trying to get off a ship at the same time is not my idea of fun. We just had a few minutes walk around the tiny port area and dipped our toes into the Med.
We're passing a variety of Greek Islands & the sea is much calmer than yesterday, which was rather rough at timea. We've had the whole day at sea as we head north towards the Adriatic Sea tlagain. Tomorrow we'll visit Dubrovnik.
I've done a fair bit of knitting: on deck, in the coffee shop and over cocktails.
I've finished one sock and cast on for sock no 2.
And I've made good progress on a shawl.
More Mediterranean photos next time and perhaps another finished sock.
