Vanity Fair was the club pattern for last summer and is knitted out of just one ball of Opal sock yarn. I wanted to design a pretty shawl that wasn't too challenging and that showed off a skein of simple sock yarn, to show that sock yarn isn't just for socks.
Vanity Fair is worked from the top down into a curved triangular shape (also known as a tear drop shape) which is a very easy shape to wear, either as a small shoulder shawl or as a scarf. A combination of simple stocking stitch until you get used to the shaping, elongated beaded stitches and a lace pattern with a beaded lace border, makes this a really pretty, feminine accessory.
I've got several of solid colours of Opal Uni in the YarnAddict Shop. Choose a bright or a neutral colour to suit your style. Buy Opal Uni from the YarnAddict Shop before end of January 2016 and get the Vanity Fair pattern free as a pdf download (your download code will be e-mailed to you in your parcel dispatch e-mail).
