Artesano Linen Silk

Artesano has another new yarn out. It's a beautiful linen, wool and silk blend. It's lovely to knit with and comes in beautiful variegated colours. I designed two designs for this collection.

Levens is a sweater with a wide lacy border at the bottom of the body and sleeves. The rest of the sweater is in stocking stitch to make the most of the beautiful variegated colours.

The lace pattern creates a slightly scalloped edge.  The lace pattern is easy enough for new lace knitters. Levens has long sleeves, a deep scoop neckline and waist shaping for a feminine look.

My second design is Chelsea which is a short-sleeved cardigan. Perfect for all seasons. Wear it over longsleeved tops in the winter and layer it over short sleeves or a dress in the summer.

Again this cardigan has a wide lace border on the bottom of the body and sleeves but the body is worked in reverse stocking stitch which works really well with the variegated colourways.

I used pretty flower buttons from the Textile Garden. I tend to stock up on buttons when I see the Textile Garden at shows so when I need buttons I have stash to choose from.

A big thank you to Judy and Debs for knitting these two samples for me. They both did a great job.
