A little bit of luxury!

The new issue of Let's Knit is in the shops now and I've got a new design in this issue. My design this month is 'Joanna' which is a stunning top with a feature lace panel.

'Joanna' is worked in two pieces from the bottom up with stitches added at the underarm for the sleeves. This is a very easy way to knit a sweater and with a drapey yarn is comfy to wear. No complicated finishing either. The top is cropped with cap sleeves. If you would like a longer top then just work more rows before adding stitches for the sleeves. In the same way you can make the sleeves longer by adding more stitches at the underarm in groups of 4 to accommodate more repeats of the lacy rib pattern. You will need more yarn for this.

Talking about the yarn, 'Joanna' is knitted in Rowan Baby Merino Silk DK. I've swatched with this yarn several times and I love it but this is the first time, I think, I've used it in a design. It's such a gorgeous smooth yarn with good stitch definition. Perfect for lace knitting.

'Joanna' features a beautiful lace pattern in the centre bordered by a lacy rib on either side. I love the lace pattern in the centre of the top. It's one of my favourites at the moment and I'm working on a shawl using a very similar stitch pattern.

One of my lovely knitters, Debs, knitted this sample for me and she did a wonderful job.

Debs has also just knitted the sample for the first pattern in the new Lace Lovers Club. It looks beautiful and I haven't even blocked it yet. It'll be even more beautiful when I block it later today.

Want to be the first to receive the new pattern? And the yarn it was knitted in? And a tin of stitch markers from Fripperies & Bibelots? And a copy of my Lace Basics booklet? Well this can all be yours by February if you join my Lace Lovers Club.

The first parcels will be sent out in about 10-14 days. After that you'll receive two more monthly parcels containing a new exclusive pattern and 1 or 2 skeins of luxury yarn in exotic fibres. The club is now nearly full and I'll close sign ups on Monday 20th January, so hurry up and join us for a luxurious 2014. You know you want to!
