Bikes & Elephants

Take two pretty fabrics.

Add a pattern, make some alterations to the pattern and soon you have a new bag. The bikes are falling over on the pocket fabric.
The pattern is from one of my new sewing books (I'll blog about that soon). I added a large padded pocket to the front. Did a seam down the centre of the pocket to create two separate pockets. Each pocket is big enough for my Nexus 7 tablet and one pocket has a magnetic snap closure. I could also use one pocket for my water bottle.

I added a zipped pocket & slip pockets for my phone, pen, lip balm and knitters tool kit to the inside. I love the elephant print lining. I added wadding to the whole bag & heavy interfacing to the lining so the bag has quite a bit of structure but its still light.

Another fabric parcel arrived today with some pretty laminated cotton. What shall I make next?
Enjoy your new year's celebrations tonight. We are taking it easy & going to the cinema. I'm taking my socks in progress to knit on.

Happy New Year
and thank you for your support in 2013!

I made a bag today too. It's a Grab Bag the pattern is free from allpeoplequilt.com. I'm very pleased with it as it is perfect for a knitting project and I can hang it from my wrist and knit with the ball of yarn inside.
