The Grace crochet scarf was designed to take advantage of the fabolous Louisa Harding Beaded Grace which is a silk blend yarn with beads already added.
I made a single colour version and a two colour version:I always wondered what Grace would look like in other beaded yarns. I got some pink mohair blend beaded yarn a while ago. I thought it was Artyarns but I bought it from Loop London and they don't stock it. Looking at their website it looks like Tili Thomas Symphony.
I did a few modifications as this yarn is much thinner than the original. I used 4mm crochet hook and did one row more of the chain trellis and on the last 2 rows I did double trebles instead of trebles. I've still got quite a bit of yarn left. Perhaps enough to make another one. I know someone who might like this as a present
Grace is a quick project for experienced crocheters and a great project for novice crocheters. The beaded yarn can be a challenge to work with so I do recommend practicing the stitches in a plain yarn first, especially if you're fairly new to crochet.
I'm teaching the Grace Crochet Scarf workshop at Spin A Yarn tomorrow (Tue 10 July). I think there may still be a couple of spaces left, so if you fancy joining me, contact the shop to book.
I sent out a newsletter today, so check your inbox. If you've not signed up you can read it here but do sign up in the sidebar so you don't miss out on future special offers.
