Let's Knit July Issue

The July issue of Let's Knit will be out any day now and is a lace issue. I've got 3 designs in this issue. You can see the Ravelry page for all the patterns here (not sure if you can view this page without being a Ravelry member).

And my favourite is the 'Sorbet' Shawl which is knitted in Debbie Bliss Rialto Lace. This is the second design I've done in Rialto Lace and i love this yarn. (My other Rialto Lace shawl will be on the cover of the Debbie Bliss A/W magazine out in August but I'll blog more about that later). Rialto Lace is a gorgeous, pure merino lace yarn in a huge range of delicious colours.
Sorbet is a top down triangular shawl featuring 2 lace patterns which flow into a lace edging. The shawl took 100gr of Rialto Lace and I loved this colour which is where I got the name Sorbet from. A bit thank you to Pixie for knitting the sample for me. She did a great job as always.
My second design is 'Lucille' which was knitted by Pixie too. The yarn is Louisa Harding Ianthe which is a gorgoeus yarn. This top features a very simple lacy rib pattern and makes a perfect summer garment for hot summer days.
I love the styling Let's Knit did for these designs. I'd love to knit one of these for myself, if only I had time. It'd be perfect for our holiday in Spain in August.
And finally, 'Seona' is a half hexagon shawlette knitted from the top down. The body of the shawl is in garter stitch with  wide lace border and a crochet chain cast off.

You can watch my video of a crochet chain cast off here. It's very easy to do even if you don't know how to crochet. The Auracania Botany Lace yarn is a gorgeous pure merino sock weight yarn. It has 410 meters per 100gr skein. It's incredibly silky feeling and is the same yarn I used for Mar Menor.
The shawl pin used in the above photo is one of the Nicholas & Felice shawl pins for sale on my website. There are still some pins available and more are on the way. If you want to make sure you don't miss them, sign up to my newsletter (in the right hand sidebar).

I like Lucille too. Wow, you have been busy with all those gorgeous new shawls. I am also knitting a shawl with Sekku & love the color changes.

Thank you ladies. The colour changes in Sekku are amazing but I'm not too sure about the way it's been spun. Not my favourite yarn.
