New design in Let's Knit

The new issue of Let's Knit arrives yesterday and includes my design, Lowenna, which is knitted in Sublime Bamboo & Pearl dk. A bit thank you to Pixie who knitted the sample. This lacy design is perfect for summer and knits up fairly quickly. the lace pattern is easy to follow.

A few knitting and spinning things have arrives lately. I got this cute little Knitters Tool Tin from The Sexy Knitter. Sarah has a variety of photos to choose from but I decided to use one of my own kaleidoscope photos and i love it.

The tin contains a selection of little knitterly essentials including snips, tape measure, gorgeous stitch markers, double ended crochet hook, st holder and some sewing needles. The tin is the perfect size for popping into your hand bag or knitting bag. I think these little tins make perfect presents for knitting friends too.

Most of the wool I've spun so far has been merino or BFL and i fancied trying some other wool types so I got some Polwarth and Corriedale form the Thylacine.  the colours are fabolous and i'm looking forward to spinning this yarn.

The Corriedale  isn't very soft and I do like soft fibre but I'll give it a go.

I also got some fibre from a local dyer who's based in Cornwall like me. Mandacrafts has fabolous fiber and I got this huge batt which is a blend of falkland, alpaca and baby camel.

I also got some soybean fibre which I didn't take out of the bag. Love the colours in this one.

A few days ago I cast on for a new lace scarf for the Easy Lace Collection. I had an idea of what I wanted to do but it took me a while to get it right and I ripped out the first few inches about 5 times. I finally settled on a pattern I was happy with and it's progressing nicely. It will look much better blocked and next time i take a progress photo I'll try to remember to pin it out.

I'm knitting with my Signature Needle Arts needles and I love them. I'd love to get some circular needles from them too as they are amazing but a bit expensive and i'm not sure i can justify it right now.

I've also been doing some crocheting and pulled out a skein of Debbie Bliss Silk that's been in the stash for ages and started crocheting a curly wurly scarf. I did have two skeins in this colour but not sure if I still do but I do have a couple of other skeins of silk in co-ordinating colours so this may end up being a two colour scarf.

I've also been doing lots of swatching for magazine deadlines but ofcourse I can't share any of that.
