Simon and Em decided to do one of their long walks this weekend. they walked The Saints Way from the south coast of Cornwall to the north coast. On Saturday, I dropped them off in Fowey (via Bodmin to drop off a hire car), they walked 15 miles. then I picked them up in Lanivet, outside Bodmin. On Sunday I dropped them back off at Lanivet and they walked to Padstow, another 15 miles. Vanessa and I drove to Padstow in the afternoon to pick them up. while we were waiting for the walkers to arrive we had a wonder around:
The river 'Camel':
Think they were all suffering this morning. Sam had a very exciting day yesterday. She got chased by cows in a field. She probably tried chasing them first. She then jumped in to a water trough in another field. Simon said they'd been walking over several stiles all day. And there was a concrete brick next to the trough. She probably thought it was another stile and jumped in. The water was partially frozen and Simon and to pull her out. Bet that was a cold experience!
Emily did really well too, she's only 12. But I think she really enjoyed the walk, she was asleep much earlier than normal last night though.
Some lovely parcels arrived on Saturday. I recently ordered some custom made sweater bags from Michele (here's her Etsy shop).
One now houses my current secret sweater project and the other one my cabled scarf.
More yarn arrived for the scarf on Friday and I've been doing some knitting on it over the weekend, you can't really tell though so I've not bothered doing a new pic.
I've been looking for a dpn needle roll for a while. I've got so many sets of dpns in different sizes and I'm loosing control of them. Isn't this love hearts set cute:
I hadn't planned on buying the project bag but it was so cute and it's fairly small so useful for my tiny projects. It's from Nics Knots.
I have done some spinning over the last week or so. And last night I finished spinning up the first half of my Painted Tiger fibre.
Here's the second half waiting to be spun:
I'm trying to spin this fairly fine, hopefully it'll end up a thickish laceweight or fingering weight.
I'm looking forward to plying it. It'll be my first proper plying with my new (well, last October) lazy kate.
this is what my dress form has looked like over the last week. I love the little blue shawlette but the silver one is so beautiful too:
The silver one is a new one that Pixie knitted for me. It'll be part of my Easy Lace e-book, due in April-ish.
It's one skein of Supreme Sock. I'll leave you with some pics of it. Oh, before I go, there will be Twinkletoes and Twinkletoes Gold in later this week and hopefully some Royal Lace and more Twist too.
