Knitting in the cinema....

.... is not always a good idea! I usually always knit in the cinema and normally it's okay. I tend to choose something fairly easy in stocking stitch or garter stitch. I did try to do a short row heel during an action film once. It didn't look too great afterwards. Last night when we went to see 'Mamma Mia' at our local church hall I decided to brint my current secret project which is in stocking stitch with a little bit of cabling. NOthing too difficult to knit in the dark. I had my row counter and a tiny torch in case I needed to look at what i was doing. I was really pleased with how much I managed to get done during the film.... until I looked at it this morning and realised that several inches down I had done about 5 stitches of purl on the knit side. It was too far down to undo just the stitches affected so I had to frog nearly all the inches I knitted last night. I've nearly caught up now but I was not happy. Next time perhaps I'll stick to a garter stitch scarf.

I'm in the middle of listing some yarns in the shop. There are a couple of new yarns, Almerino Sock Yarn which is a blend of 50% Suri Alpaca and 50% Merino, and Superwash BFL sock yarn which is 100% Bluefaced Leicester. There are also a tiny bit of Merino Plus (there won't be much more of this to come as my supplier is currently not stocking it), Silky Merino Lace, Luscious Lace and Bambino. This is one skein of Bambino and one skein of Almerino dyed in the same colour.
There are only one or two skeins of most of the colours so be quick if you don't want to miss out.

I started tidying up my studio the other day and found lots more yarn that's not been listed yet so there will be more to come throughout the week. All listed at sales prices. The sale will last until the end of January.

It's also time to show off the last club yarns, here's the Lace Variety Club yarn for December, a very delicate Silky Merino Lace in 'Winter White Lilac' and hte pattern was 'Dazzle'.For Sockamania PLUS for December I chose to use my Bambino sock yarn which is a blend of merino and bamboo. This is the colourway I knitted a pair of plain socks in over Christmas, see the post below for pic.If you want to sign up for the Lace Variety Club or Sockamania PLUS, be quick as I'm dyieng yarn for the Lace Variety Club this week and as it's now a bi-monthly club next chance after January will be March.

Your cinema knitting sounds very frustrating. Last time I knit at the cinema there was a scene that made me leap out of my skin in fright, throw my yarn and knitting into the air and watch the ball bounce all the way to the front of the theatre under all the seats. It was very embarrassing to fetch it when the lights went up!

WOW you are very brave. Knitting in the cinema is not something I had ever thought of.

Jane just made me nearly wet myself with laughter. How embarrassing.
