I love visiting new yarn shops and when I get to teach in a new shop it's even more exciting. On Friday I travelled up to Rowlands Castle in Hampshire to teach at Handmade Studios for the first time.
I had a lovely group of ladies who I really enjoyed spending the day with. The shop has a beautiful selection of yarns including several indie brands. I couldn't resist a beautiful skein of Truly Hooked. I kept looking at it all day and I got a pretty set of stitch markers.
Linda, who owns the shop, provided a delicious cake. I felt guilty eating a big slice but on the train home when I couldn't find anywhere to buy food till about 9pm, I was quite glad I'd had a big slice of cake to keep me going.
Travelling home was adventurous due to Storm Brian! In the end I got home fine, but there were lots of delays! Yesterday I did very little. We did a bit of shopping, and I spent the rest of the day knitting in front of the TV. I love my current project. Isn't the yarn pretty? It's Fyberspates Gleem Lace and you'll see the finished design in a magazine in a few months time.
I'll be back at Handmade Studios in November and December for a Circular Fair Isle Yoke workshop and Fair Isle Knitting and Steeking workshop. Contact Handmade Studios if you're interested.
