Let's Knit 115 - Spring Shawlette

The new issue of Let's Knit is in the shops in the UK this week. The free gift with this issue is three balls of lace weight yarn and a leaflet with lace pattern. I designed a small shawlette to go with the free yarn.

The Spring Shawlette is a beautiful lace shawl which is worked from the top down. This shawl starts with garter stitch while you get used to the shaping. A simple lace pattern is followed by a lace edging worked in a contrasting colour.

If you prefer to knit this in a different yarn, 100g/800m of 2ply lac weight yarn will be enough. I don't know exactly how many meters I used for the shawl because the yarn I used didn't have meterage on the label. The free yarn that comes with the magazine is 100% acrylic. I must admit I prefer to use a yarn with natural fibres as it keeps it's blocked shape much better.

This is a light weight, fun, sweet shawlette perfect for spring and summer.

Here's the cover of the leaflet which contains several lace patterns, including my shawl pattern.
