Gavotte - Cover of The Knitter 104

The new issue of The Knitter is in the shops soon and I've got a beautiful shawl on the cover of issue 104. I haven't received my copy yet but it looks like a fab issue.

Gavotte is a rectangular shawl worked in Fyberspates Scrumptious Lace which is one of my favourite lace yarns.

Gavotte has a beautiful all over lace pattern with a wide border along one long side. Beads are added to highlight the border and are also used in the main lace pattern.

The Knitter says: 'Decorate your shoulders with this ornate beaded shawl, knitted in a silky lace yarn. A special shawl adds glamour to any outfit, and this gorgeous stole has a luxurious look. The main lace stitch pattern is paired with a contrasting pattern along the lower length of the shawl, and small pearl beads have been used to add weight and sparkle'.

Isn't that border beautiful? I know there's a lot of beads but if you wanted to reduce the number of beads, you can just add them to the border (or you can leave them out all together). If you're new to adding beads, here's my tutorial.
