Well what a difference a week makes. Last weekend it was warm and sunny. This week, not so much. We have a long weekend though.
Yesterday Simon and I headed out for the day on our own. Em is in the middle of her 30 GCSE exams (6 week exam period) and was revising. Ness was working.
First we headed to Trerice, a National Trust property near Newquay. We haven't been for a few years.
The small gardens were in full bloom and I was testing my new phone by taking lots of photos.
There was a duck family.
The front of this relatively small property.
They've planted a new formal garden.
Afterwards we headed to Fistral beach, the UK's surfing paradise. Several surfers were braving the gloomy, windy conditions.
We decided to have a late lunch in the indoor beach bar and look who joined us. He did eat out of Simon's hand but I missed that.
Afterwards we went for a short walk along the cliffs.
And watched some mad people swim off the rocks.
We walked around the Headland Hotel.
I came home to this pretty, knitting inspired fabric bundle from Betz White. There's a yard of each. Not sure what to make yet, especially as I broke my machine quilting Em's quilt last night.
