The Crochet Project Issue 2

Had a lovely surprise yesterday when I checked my Ravelry pattern page. Issue 2 of The Crochet Project is out and includes my new design, Sibleyback. Sibleyback is an infinity scarf crocheted in an easy lacy pattern. It's also the name of the lake on Bodmin Moor where we keep our boats and I go cycling. The lake has a cycle path all around it with a small woodland on one side. I love cycling through the trees.
The Sibleyback Infinity Scarf is crocheted as a rectangle, blocked and then the short ends are joined to make a large loop which you can wear as a long loop or wrap it twice around your neck. A big thank you to Leni who crocheted the sample for me.
You can easily make it longer or shorter. The sample is made in Debbie Bliss Luxury Silk DK in the brightest red I've ever seen. I did wonder how well the red would photograph but Kat Goldin is a master of photographing knitwear and crochet.
I just love how the red colour stands out in these photos especially the photo below. The theme of this collection is woodland whimsy and the designs are gorgeous.
There are shawls, scarves, hats, mitts and garments in this collection and the designs show that crochet can be modern and stylish. You can see the whole collection here or flick through the look book. Patterns can be bought individually or as a collection at a significant discount. Designers are fairly paid a percentage of sales so please support this fantastic venture.

Joanne and Kat, the ladies behind the Crochet Project, will also be publishing a Knit Project soon. Can't wait to see it!

your pictures are perfect and there are so many other colours that will go well with that red. Such a pretty stitch pattern too
