Let's Knit 65

The new issue of Let's Knit has just hit the shops and I have a beautiful lacy design on the cover.
I love everything about this sweater. It has a geometric lace pattern which is very simple to knit. It has a simple cropped shape with no complicated shaping to worry about. Cleo is worked in two pieces - front and back - stitches for the sleeves are added to the body at the underarm.
And the yarn is gorgeous too. I used Debbie Bliss Rialto 4ply for this sweater. Rialto 4ply is a light, bouncy, pure merino wool and it's so soft and perfect for lace. It'll keep you warm on chilly spring days and summer evenings but because the fabric is thin and lacy it won't be to warm to take you through spring into summer.
Frances who is one of my new super knitters, knitted this sweater for me and I think she did a great job. While writing this blog post, the post man knocked on my door and brought a new sweater for Let's Knit which Frances has also knitted for me and oh my, it's gorgeous. I won't be able to reveal that for a few months yet though.
So if you fancy a lightweight, lace sweater that'll take you through spring into summer why not knit Cleo? Cleo has a cropped shape but you can easily make it longer, just knit more rows before adding the stitches for the sleeves. You'll need more yarn though.
