Take a luscious pure alpaca yarn in a gorgeous colour and add an elegant lace pattern and you've got the perfect winter accessory.
My Lace Infinity Cowl made the cover of the Knitting Magazine 'Last Minute Gifts To Knit' supplement which was included with Knitting Magazine issue 110 which is in the shops now. This scarf starts with a provisional cast on and is knitted flat with the short ends grafted together at the end. If you prefer you can do a regular cast on and cast off then sew the ends together.
Wear this scarf as one long loop or wrap it around your neck twice for a cozy scarf. If you prefer a smaller cowl just knit it shorter before joining.
This is my first design using an Alpaca Select yarn and I loved it. Some of their yarns are pure alpaca and some are 50% alpaca/50% acrylic. I didn't thin I'd like the acrylic/alpaca blends but I loved them too. This scarf is knitted in Cusco which is a pure alpaca dk yarn and it's so soft and silky to knit with. I've got some balls in a gorgeous pink colour and I cast on yesterday for a winter accessory set using it. More about that in the next post.
Why not knit it as a present for a loved one or even better as a present for yourself.

This is just lovely! Is there any way for me to get the pattern? It would be a perfect Christmas gift for my sister.
Thank you and good question. You may be able to get a back issue of Knitting. The copyright belongs to Alpaca Select who commissioned me to design this for Knitting magazine. I can't see the pattern on their website though. You could try contacting them http://www.alpaca-select.co.uk/
I'm sorry I can't be of any more help right now.
