Did you play Yarn Detective in the post I did a few days ago? Thank you for joining in. 4 of the 5 ladies who played got it all correct. Names were put into a pot (sorry couldn't find a hat) and the winner has been drawn............... THE WINNER IS WOOLLY WARBLER You win a skein of yarn and pattern of your choise from my Etsy shop. E-mail me or convo me through Etsy with your choice and address. Thank you to all of you for playing along.
The free pattern with yarn purchase is still on btw.
I've got some new yarns coming in the shop later this week. My shipment of wool/bamboo sock yarn has now arrived and I've been dyeing some today. It's gorgeous yarn. I'll also be dyeing wool/seacell 4ply and lace and possibly some aran silk this week, so lots of exciting new stuff by the end of the week.
And lots of tempting new yarns for me to knit with. I must be disciplined and finish some other stuff first though. I'm working hard on two mag submissions (one's been accepted and one not yet), my fun fur scarves for my neighbour - I'm getting there slowly, very slowly!!! and a couple of scarves for Christmas presents. And almost forgot, the January Sockamania sock. I'm halfway through the first sock now. It's a fairly simple pattern but the yarn is stunning and it's one of those yarns where you want a simple pattern to let the yarn do all the work. If that all sounds too tempting, then head over to Etsy quickly as there are a few more Sockamanania PLUS Merino Sock Club memberships up for grabs. I'm keeping the numbers a bit lower for January so if you want to get in be quick. The parcels will be posted on 27th December. Why not treat yourself to an early Christmas present or send the link to the listing to someone who may want to treat you for Christmas. Remember if you're hoping the man in your life will buy you a sock club membership for christmas, they need more than a hint. A nudge or very hard push is needed, so e-mail them the link or print out the listing and stick it to their forehead.
I've asked Simon for the Harmony Guides for Christmas and ended up giving him Interweave Knits with the ad for the books and an instruction to go to Amazon. I think it's worked. YEAH!!!
I'd better get back to the fun fur scarves for my neighbour. They feel soft and cozy when they're done but fun fur in garter stitch on large needles is ever so boring.
Happy knitting x
