This is my very first dish cloth. The pattern is the Trellis pattern from www.knittingpatterncentral.com. I didn't know you could use handknitted dish cloths but I'm going to give it a try after all the recommendations on the knittinghaven.com forum. This sample is knitted in 50% cotton/50% acrylic, Patons Washed Haze I think it's called. Off to try some other patterns now.

Lovely looking dishcloth! I've done thick cotton pot holders (obviously not lacy!) before which work quite well. Just read your post about the Knitcases competition, and I'm hoping to have a go at it too. :-)
I love the lace look. As you said, great way to practice lace patterns. My next dishcloth is going to be a lace pattern.
Thanks Steph and Debby. I'm on my third dish cloth in two (or is it 3??) days now. Knitted a circular lace one from Knitting pattern central which I've finished. Will post a pic tomorrow. That gave me an idea for another design which I've nearly finished. I've now got a couple of more ideas spinning around in my head. Not got much time to knit this week though. Although they're so quick to do.
I wouldn't even mind tackling the dishes but would want to admire rather than use such a great cloth! So different from the one's my granny used to knit in calico coloured cotton! Have bought a pattern from GK to do facecloths as Christmas gifts - but will be asking on the forum for 'H-E-L-P' as I have never done a provisional cast-on before
I've never done a provisional cast on either. I'm sure someone on the forum can help you. I cast mine on the normal way. Didn't know there were different ways of doing it till a few months ago. Don't know what my method is called either.
