Years ago, I got a terrible stiff neck while taking my A levels. The GP reckoned it was stress. Ever since then, my neck is a bit of a weak point and I get a sore neck from time to time. I find if it gets really bad, ibuprofen helps - because it hurts, I start moving awkwardly, thereby making it worse. If I take painkillers, I relax a bit more and it gets better more quickly.
